David Korma for Thierry Mugler F/W 2014

Last year David Koma was named artistic director of Thierry Mugler.  He has an eye for geometric shapes as evident in his Autumn/Winter 2014 collection that showed at London Fashion week on February 17,2014.  The collection was lacking in color but this better allowed for a focus on the shapes and patterns that Koma is known for.  He achieved these patterns through the use of leather trim.  My favorite looks by Koma were his all black looks because of their sleekness.  I am excited to see more from Koma in the upcoming seasons. Check out the rest of the collection here.

Fashion Week: Marissa Webb

New York Fashion Week is full steam ahead.  One of my favorite shows this season has come from Marissa Webb.  I was not previously familiar with this designer but after seeing her show I was blown away.  She is a very talented outwear designer and I love her use of color and pattern.  Her designs are extremely wearable and are just perfect for strolling through Soho on a chilly winter evening.

My favorite looks:

Olympic Fashion

This week marks the start of the 22nd Winter Olympic games.  I cannot wait to watch figure skating and speed skating but I definitely enjoyed watching the opening ceremony and seeing what each team was wearing.  Below is Team USA's outfit designed by Ralph Lauren.  There's a lot going on.  The cardigan looks super cozy but I am not sure how I feel about it.

I really liked Team Canada's outfits.  The toggle coats are a simple but classic piece.  Which team do you think was best dressed?  See the rest of the outfits here.

6 Weeks

According to Phil, the groundhog, there are just 6 more weeks left of winter. Even though Spring is over a month away I'm already planning out my wardrobe. Hopefully it's a warm Spring because I've seen so many fun dresses at Forever21. The dresses are all a steal at $12.80 each, so they would be great to play the high-low game with. Imagine them paired with these wedges!  But just a warning, Forever21 dresses tend to run very short.  It's still too cold to even think about ordering these dresses but nevertheless I'm getting excited for blooming flowers and sunshine.
