The Kimono Trend

You might recognize the kimono as a traditional Japanese garment.  Or you might recognize it as something you've seen in many popular stores.  I think they are going to be a 2014 summer staple.  I'm loving the look for a variety of reasons. First of all the kimono gives you a bit of coverage for those days when it is hot outside but you are ducking in and out of air conditioned buildings.  Second, it's the perfect way to add a statement to your outfit.  Third, it doubles as a swimwear coverup!

Kimonos can be found at many stores at a variety of prices and styles.  You can find them in an assortment of materials from silk to polyester to crotchet material. They also come in a variety of lengths so you can find one to match any casual outfit.  I've found Forever21.com to have the biggest selection but I've found great prints at Tobi.com.   I'm loving these two kimonos:

Breaking Fashion News: Forever 21 to go Cheaper!?

If you're like me then you love to mix and match the high with the low.  One of my favorite places to hunt out these lower priced items is Forever 21.  It has been reported that Forever 21 has just opened it's first new concept store called F21 Red. The first store opened this past weekend in South Gate, California.  What makes this different from the normal Forever 21 store is that prices are supposed to be even cheaper!  Think denim for $7.80 and tops for $3.80.  Can you believe that?!  I'm interested in checking out F21 Red but I'm a little skeptical about how great the clothing will be.  What will the quality of the clothing be like, i.e. will it look cheap, will it hold up well?  We will just have to see when more F21 Red stores open up!
